Coming 2021 & 2022

Inspired by other political parable plays like Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui and Alfred Jarry’s Ubu Roi, Mendacity is a darkly comic imagining of the three months between Nov 3rd, 2020 and Jan 20th, 2021 told through a reworked version of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and the added element of new media and video projection.

Williams' iconic story and characters are both in tact and altered to fit our current moment, all of it lives in the realm of serious parody, similar in style to Charles Ludlam’s Ridiculous Theatrical Company.

Foxy Films is the recipient of a grant from The New Jersey State Council on the Arts for this piece. This piece will be built, workshopped and filmed over 2021, with an anticipated stage production in 2022.
