Dr. Uncanny Presents: Moreau '96 is a musical theater piece and true story of director Rebekah Skilling’s catastrophic journey from rising Hollywood auteur to unpaid extra in a dog costume. It’s a metaphor for the de-evolution of art in 2025, of vision vs. commercialism, innovation vs. cliche and Marlon Brando vs. everyone. It’s also an adaptation of the 2014 documentary Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau, which was directed by David Gregory of Severin Films.
