Honduras is a solo piece based on true events, accounts, personal experiences from the Honduran immigrant mothers in the New York/New Jersey area, all of whom playwright Sara Farrington and her colleagues at Immigrant Families Together have supported. Each asylum seeking mother and child in this story crossed the border in the summer of 2018. All names are changed. Some characters in this play are composites or interpreted versions of people we met and helped and some scenarios are condensed, consolidated and dramatized, but nothing has been exaggerated.
This piece was originally commissioned as part of the All For One Theater Solo Collective Residency, 2019, with subsequent showings at :
The So-Fi Festival (June 2019),
Judson Mem'l Church (June 2019),
The Tank (Sept 2019 & October 2019),
The Michael Chekhov Theater Festival, Ridgefield, CT, (Oct 2019)
Gnome Haus, Providence RI (Feb/March 2020)
