Written by Sara Farrington // Directed by Evan Zes // Performed by Valeria A. Avina
Honduras is a solo piece based on true events, accounts, personal experiences from the Honduran immigrant mothers in the New York/New Jersey area, all of whom playwright Sara Farrington and her colleagues at Immigrant Families Together have supported. Each asylum seeking mother and child in this story crossed the border in the summer of 2018. All names are changed. Some characters in this play are composites or interpreted versions of people we met, some scenarios are condensed, consolidated and dramatized, but nothing has been exaggerated.
This piece was originally commissioned as part of the All For One Theater Solo Collective Residency, January 2019 and has since had several regional tours. To inquire about booking a tour date or run of this powerful piece, please contact me here.
Video of the full piece is below, performed at The Tank's main stage Oct 2019.
